Man fatally stabbed inside Times Square Dave & Buster's
NEW YORK -- A man faces murder charges after he was accused of fatally stabbing another man at the Dave & Buster's restaurant in Times Square.
"That's very scary. It's my daughter's birthday in a couple of days, so we're here for Dave & Busters to have fun," Kenya Woods said.
CBS2's Elijah Westbrook caught up with Woods and her daughter ahead of their celebration at the Times Square business, and after telling them the new they said they were having second thoughts about going in.
"Thank you for telling us," Woods said. "I'm sorry for whoever went through that there yesterday."
Police said a 39-year-old Allen Stanford of the Bronx was stabbed to death during an argument inside Dave & Buster's on Saturday just before 11 p.m.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Jesse Armstrong, allegedly jammed an unidentified object into the victim's chest before running out of Dave & Busters. Medics rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was pronounced dead. The suspect was arrested near the establishment and his facing charges.
"It's sad, it's crazy, it's horrifying," one person said.
Dave & Busters said in a statement said, "We are fully cooperating with law enforcement's investigation. Our thoughts and sympathies are with those affected by this terrible incident."
"It's pretty tragic, very sad for the family," tourist Carol Ayling said, adding, "It's tragic when anybody loses their life, but, unfortunately, it's a sign of the times."
It was business as usual at Dave & Busters on Sunday, although a noticeable police presence was seen in front of the restaurant.
Police said they're still investigating the deadly incident.
