AirTrain Service To JFK Airport Suspended; Shuttle Buses Being Provided

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- AirTrain service to John F. Kennedy International Airport is suspended this weekend.

The shuttle service is suspended so workers can replace steel on the system.

Check: Traffic

Shuttle buses will help passengers get between terminals and the Howard Beach and Lefferts Boulevard stations.

Port Authority officials warn travelers to budget extra time to get to and from the airport.

Meanwhile, the Queens-bound tube of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel will be closed to traffic this weekend until 5:30 a.m. Monday.

One lane should be open in each direction in the remaining tube. Delays should be expected.

The closure is so that workers can remove ceiling panels damaged during Superstorm Sandy.
