AirTrain Service At JFK To Shut Down Until Saturday Afternoon
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- AirTrain service at John F. Kennedy International Airport will be shut down until Saturday afternoon.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey plans a full system shutdown of the AirTrain from 9 p.m. Friday until 2 p.m. Saturday.
There also will be partial overnight stoppages from 9 p.m. to noon each day next week. They will affect service between the airport's Federal Circle stop and the central terminal area.
The Port Authority said it will offer free shuttle buses in place of trains. It will have extra staff on duty to provide information.
The AirTrain connects the airport terminals with the Howard Beach stop on the A Train, and the Sutphin Boulevard stop on the E, J and Z trains in the subway system.
