In today's web-integrated world, social media is prime marketing real estate. That holds true for sports teams as well, because their fans and peers are all spending a significant amount of time interacting on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Many teams simply put out information, but there are some that get creative and really enhance their likability through their social-media interaction -- particularly on Twitter.
Here are six teams that just get it:
1) Los Angeles Kings
@conanobrien Clearly, that joke wasn't meant for prime time.

Hey, they've got swagger and can back it up on and off the ice. Doesn't get much better than that.
2) Columbus Blue Jackets

Their Twitter bromance with the Kings is quite apparent, but even when they're going solo they're hilarious.
3) New York Mets

If only we'd see .GIFs after every loss. Still, nice job. (SIDE NOTE: That would be a lot of .GIFs. Are there enough of them out there to cover all those Mets losses?)
4) and 5) Vancouver Canucks & Edmonton Oilers

MT @darrenrovell: Hawks advertise Korver's potential record 3-point game as if anyone would care
The candid nature of their tweets is refreshing. Also, Tony Romo jokes are funny and will never get old.
Just Missed
Speaking of Romo, honorable mention goes out to the Dallas Stars' Twitter account:
