7/3 CBS2 Friday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS2 Meteorologist

Skies will remain mostly sunny through this afternoon -- the humidity won't be too bad either! Expect a high of about 80 degrees.

We'll see an increase in clouds tonight ahead of our next system. Much of the area will stay dry, though we can't rule out a spot shower south and west of the city as we approach daybreak. Temps will fall to about 67 degrees by sunrise.

Unfortunately, we're seeing more in the way of moisture on your Fourth of July than we've seen in recent days. So, expect at least some on and off rain/showers during the day with things wrapping up before the start of the fireworks. Temps will struggle to reach the mid 70s during the day and will be in the upper 60s for the fireworks.

The good news is high pressure should win out on Sunday! So, expect lots of sunshine with warmer highs in the low to mid 80s.

Check back for more details on your holiday weekend! Be safe and enjoy!
