4/7 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis

Widespread showers will push through this afternoon and become more scattered as we head into this evening. They could be heavy at times, so do be mindful of that. As for temps, we'll likely max out near 60° -- about 10-15° warmer than yesterday.

Also worth mentioning... a Wind Advisory is in effect for Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, and Monmouth and Ocean counties in NJ. Wind gusts could potentially reach 40-50 mph in these areas until early this evening.

Then, things will quiet down overnight, but a stray shower is still possible. Temps will fall into the low 40's by daybreak.

Some tail-end precip from the system exiting to our N&E will attempt to graze us tomorrow, but mainly to the north. That said, expect only a 20% chance of a shower... can't even rule out a snow shower far N&W. As for the Mets game, the temp should be in the upper 40's to near 50° for the first pitch with a just a very slight chance of a shower during the game. Highs tomorrow will be a little cooler in the low 50's.

Another round of precip will swing through on Saturday and bring us a better chance of rain and even snow for parts of the area. We'll need some time to work on snowfall -- if it even gets to that point -- but light accumulations are possible if some of the morning model runs hold true.

As for Sunday, it's looking pretty bright right now, but we could potentially see record lows that morning with highs only in the mid 40's! Brrr!
