3/7 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Afternoon!

For the first time in a while, we're NOT tracking a winter storm this weekend! Instead, looks like we'll be reaching temps that are actually seasonable for this time of year by mid-week.

Clouds will be on the increase this afternoon ahead of a warm front. Highs generally in the mid 30s. Going for a high of 35 in the city, but could go a couple degrees higher if there's more heating prior to clouds thickening. The far north and west suburbs will stay closer to the freezing mark, even upper 20s for places like Monticello. Some passing flakes are possible, especially north of the city.

Mostly cloudy skies tonight, with a low of 32 in Central Park. Don't forget we "spring ahead" at 2 AM... set your clocks forward one hour before heading to sleep!

Mostly sunny and breezy for tomorrow. It will be warmer, with highs in the mid 40s. Much of the same for your Monday. Next chance of some rain looks to be Tuesday night into early Wednesday, with the best bet being south.

Check back in soon for the latest forecast!
