2/27 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good afternoon, everyone! We have a seasonable chill out there today with plenty of sunshine. A breeze out of the west will make it feel more like the 30s at times, despite highs in the low 40s. A few clouds overnight as lows drop into the low/mid 30s (upper 20s for the north and west suburbs).

Tomorrow will be an entirely different story as we get some spring-like warmth! High pressure moves offshore, giving us a southwest flow and temps will jump into the upper 50s and low 60s... going for 60 in the city! It'll still be breezy, but remains dry.

Our next chance for a shower comes early Monday morning as a weak cold front moves through. It'll be weakening as it approaches, so it's only looking like a passing shower or two. It should clear out by afternoon and temps once again top out around 60.

Wednesday brings a much better chance at some rain and maybe even a rumble of thunder. It stays above normal through midweek with temps in the 50s. Late Wednesday into Thursday another cold front moves through. Depending on how quickly Wednesday's precip moves out, we could see some wet flakes to end as the cold air moves in.

Temps drop back into the upper 30s by the week's end with a rain/snow chance for Friday. That's a long ways off though, so just enjoy this beautiful weekend for now! Be sure to check back in soon.
