Joe Biden, Donald Trump easily win presidential primaries in New York and Connecticut

NEW YORK -- Presidential primaries were held in four states on Tuesday night, including in New York and Connecticut.

Certainly, there weren't going to be any surprises. In New York, Joe Biden won on the Democratic side and Donald Trump was victorious on the Republican side.

Both easily won in Connecticut, as well.

The candidates are clearly looking to the general election and targeting issues important to women.

"You know, the suburban housewives actually like Donald Trump. You know why? Because I'm the one that's going to keep them safe. They like to say, well, the suburban housewives, I don't know. I think I do great with the suburban housewives," Trump said.

The Biden campaign was focused Tuesday on abortion, launching a commercial one day after Florida's Supreme Court cleared the way for a six-week abortion ban to go into effect in the state next month.

"I'm running to make Rowe v. Wade the law of the land again so women have a federal guarantee of the right to choose. Donald Trump doesn't trust women. I do," Biden says on the ad.

In Connecticut, Democrats could vote "Uncommitted" to oppose the president's handling of the Israel-Hamas war. New Yorkers didn't have that option, but activists who wanted to send the president a message urged people to "Leave it blank."

We won't know how many left them blank until the vote is certified in a couple of weeks.
