2 Women Killed When Train Plows Into Car On Tracks In New Jersey
MIDDLESEX, N.J. (CBSNewYork) – Two people were killed when a train struck a car on the tracks this morning in New Jersey.
The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. on New Jersey Transit's Raritan Valley Line at the Cedar Avenue crossing in Middlesex Township.
Two women inside the car were killed. They have been identified as 73-year-old Florence Obado, of New Brunswick, and 44-year-old Susan Mazurek, of Middlesex.
It's unclear if they drove around the safety gates.
Raritan Valley Line Rail Service is suspended in both directions between Plainfield and Raritan due to a fatal motor vehicle strike near Bound Brook.

Thirty passengers were on board the train at the time. No riders were injured.
