11/25 CBS2 Tuesday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello Everyone,

We are very busy over here today in the CBS2 Weather Center. Lonnie Quinn and I are working hard crunching numbers and maps for the most accurate forecast. This is a very complicated storm heading our way, with big ranges in snow totals.

Before we get there, let's just throw out the fact that no matter if you get two slushy inches of precip, or 10 inches of heavy, wet snow, your traveling will be slowed and/or delayed.

This couldn't be worse timing for the busiest travel day of the year. But the silver lining... it's a quick mover, so it should be out east by 10-11pm, clearing for the holiday.

Warmer solution would leave immediate coastal communities with a 1 to 3 slushy inches. Just inland and perhaps part of the boroughs could see a 2 to 4 inches total, while another 10 miles or so inland, were talking 3 to 6 inches.

When you get north of, say, I-287, expect some 6-inch-plus totals. Double digits are reserved for the highest elevations.

Check back in for the latest.
