1 Suspect Charged, 1 Wanted In Brutal Brooklyn Attack
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One suspect had been arrested and charged, while another remained on the loose Monday, in an assault in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
The attack happened around 5 p.m. Feb. 7. A 22-year-old man was assaulted by two suspects in front of a building at 5812 Fourth Ave. in Brooklyn, police said.
One suspect punched the victim several times in the head and body, while the other hit him several times with a baseball bat.
The victim was treated at Lutheran Medical Center for severe injuries to his head and arms, police said.
One suspect – Jonathan Torres, 22, of Brooklyn, was arrested Monday and charged attempted murder, assault, gang assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Police believe he was the one who punched the suspect.
The other suspect – allegedly the one with the bat – remained on the loose Monday night. He was identified as Jorge Soto, 28, and was described as a Hispanic male standing 6 feet 2 inches tall with "Lucc" tattooed under his left eye and "Ingrid" tattooed on the left side of his neck.
Police have released a photo of Soto.
