Teen stabbed outside high school in the Bronx

16-year-old boy stabbed in stomach outside Bronx school

NEW YORK - A teen was stabbed Tuesday outside Bronx School of Music High School. 

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at 195th Street and Jerome Avenue in the Kingsbridge Heights section.

Police say the boy was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.

Police believe five suspects were involved.

No arrests have been made.

Department of Education statement

The Department of Education released the following statement Tuesday afternoon:

"The safety of our students is our absolute priority. NYPD immediately responded to an incident that occurred across the street from campus after dismissal today, and the schools in the immediate area went into a shelter-in, which has now been lifted. We are deploying additional resources to the campus and school communities to provide our full support to students and staff."

NYPD searching for suspects

The NYPD says it's looking for five people after a 16-year-old was stabbed in the stomach outside the Bronx School of Music High School Tuesday. 

It happened around 2:30 p.m. at 195th Street and Jerome Avenue. 

The teen was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.
