A second suspect has been arrested in the quadruple shooting in the Bronx that left one person dead and three others hurt Friday.

Police said Saturday that 32-year-old Jose Parilla, of the Upper West Side, had been arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

Mayor Eric Adams said Saturday that despite recent shootings, crime is down.

"We're down in shootings this week in the city. We're down in homicides in the city. And so when you have these high-profile incidents, it gives the appearance that we're not winning, but we are," Adams said.

"Six or maybe eight, boom boom boom," one witness said.

Four men were shot as people scrambled to get away.

"I hear gunshots -- pop, pop, pop, pop, pop -- and I'm scared," Morris Heights resident Michael Felton said.

Police say an argument led to a 24-year-old man being shot in the chest. He died at a nearby hospital.

Another man is in critical condition. Two others will be OK.

"It's sad because this is constantly happening," Felton said.

Just three hours later, four people were shot in Coney Island, Brooklyn, in what police call a targeted attack.

Prior to Feb. 5, NYPD statistics show shootings citywide were down nearly 24% compared to the same time last year, but with all the recent gun violence, the percentage gap is closing rapidly.

Thursday, 22-year-old Idrissa Siby was shot and killed in Times Square, steps from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Earlier this week, five teenagers and a security guard were shot in separate shootings in Brooklyn.

As for Friday's shootings, no arrests have been made in the Brooklyn drive-by.

In the Bronx, one suspect was taken into custody.

Police do not believe the two shootings are connected.
