World Cup 2014: Google Maps give you a front row seat inside stadiums
If you're not traveling to Brazil next week for the World Cup, don't worry -- you can still visit the stadiums where the action takes place thanks to Google Maps.
The search engine has unveiled a special page that includes 360 degree views of each of the 12 stadiums.
"Whether you're watching from the comfort of your couch or packing your bags for Brazil, Google Maps is your ticket to the games," wrote Google Street View Program Manager Deanna Yick in a blog post.
Each view includes a small map of where the stadium is located and a description of what games will be played there.
In addition, users can also explore the country's famous painted streets and other iconic sites like Iguacu National Park and St. Michael of the Missions.
For those actually heading to Brazil for the games, Google also rolled out some useful features for mobile users.
The app includes transit maps for all 12 host cities, indoor maps for venues like airports and malls and turn-by-turn navigation which use real-time traffic info and incident reports.
"So even if we can't help your favorite team find their way to victory, Google Maps is ready for the assist. You might be (or get) lost without it!" Yick said.
