Woman charged with taking sheriff deputy's car on drunken joyride
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- An Arizona woman is facing charges after authorities say she went on a drunken fast-food run, in a patrol car that belonged to her friend -- a deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
KNXV-TV in Phoenix reports recently released court documents say police found 41-year-old Elizabeth Jean Moore after she turned the vehicle's siren on for a drive-through worker at a Jack-in-the-Box.
The documents say Moore's blood-alcohol level was .11, versus the legal limit of .08.
The Chandler resident was just charged last week in connection with the alleged illicit ride that took place last November. She faces two counts of aggravated drunken driving.
Documents also say the deputy's wife was in the front passenger seat, and two 12-year-old girls were in the backseat.
A sheriff's spokesman says an investigation took place and corrective action was taken since the incident.
Moore declined to comment.
