Thief caught on camera stealing wedding ring from dead woman's hand
ODESSA, Texas-- Police are searching for a woman who was caught on surveillance camera stealing a wedding ring from a deceased woman's hand at a funeral home in Texas,CBS affiliate KOSA reported.
The alleged thief can be seen on video taking the ring from the corpse in an open casket at the Sunset Funeral Home in Odessa.
The family is still grieving the woman's death, and is asking anyone with information about the theft to come forward.
KOSA reported that the incident occurred on April 8. The unknown female stole the ring and then fled the scene in a red or maroon four-door Saturn.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set white female. At the time of the theft, she was wearing a brown long sleeve sweater, black sweat pants and black sandals.
A woman, who identified herself as the granddaughter of the deceased woman, posted about the theft on Facebook.
