Witnesses: St. Louis teen shot dead by 11-year-old was selling phone
ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis County Police said there is evidence to indicate that 16-year-old Lamonte Streeter was inside the home of an 11-year-old when he was fatally shot in the head by the younger boy.
According to CBS St. Louis, Streeter's older sister says he was selling his phone to the 11-year-old, and another witness says he may have been invited in by the younger boy.
Initial reports from police stated Streeter and an accomplice tried to invade the north Louis County home on Sept. 3. According to the station, Stevieon Jackson, 22, was later arrested on suspicion of burglary, but has not yet been charged.
However, several witnesses report seeing a very different story.
Jazmyne Clark, 18, who lives two doors down from the shooting, says the 11-year-old was on the front porch when he told the 16-year-old to approach him, reports the station. When the 16-year-old reached the front door, the younger boy shot him, Clark says.
"He wasn't breaking in at all. He was just trying to sell him his phone," Clark says according to the St. Louis station.
Furthermore, Streeter's older sister, Katrice Lashay, 20, claims her brother had gone to the home last week to sell the younger boy a cellphone, reports the station.
