Whoopi Goldberg on Bill Cosby: "You are still innocent until proven guilty"
Whoopi Goldberg says she's holding off making judgments on Bill Cosby following the release of court documents indicating the comedian admitted in 2005 to obtaining quaaludes with the intent of giving them to women with whom he wanted to have sex.
Goldberg said Tuesday on ABC's "The View" that "you are still innocent until proven guilty." She says Cosby "has not been proven a rapist."
"I think it's again we'll see what happens as more information comes out. People can make judgements," "The View" co-host said. "I don't like snap judgements because I've had snap judgements made on me, so I'm very, very careful." Goldberg then addressed her potential critics: "Save your texts. Save your nasty comments. I don't care."
Her co-host Raven-Symone, who starred on Cosby's 1980s sitcom "The Cosby Show," said she doesn't like talking about the allegations because he helped launch her career.
Singer Jill Scott, who previously backed Cosby, took to Twitter this week to say she can no longer support the comedian.
