Wedding guest stabs another during ceremony
MIAMI - A couple of guests at a wedding in Hollywood, Fla. clearly didn't stand on ceremony.
According to CBS Miami, with the bride and groom at the altar at the Hillcrest Golf and Country Club Saturday afternoon, one cousin in attendance stabbed another cousin.
The alleged victim, a 31-year-old man, was taken away by ambulance.
"This happened during the actual ceremony," the country club's president, Lewis Rissman, told the station.
Rissman said several staff members were nearby when suddenly, one cousin lunged at another, in the back row, with a knife, just when the preacher asked family and friends to pray.
"Shortly after he mentioned bowing their heads in prayer, one cousin, or one gentleman took out a knife and went a couple yards over and stabbed the other fella twice," he said.
Pictures showed the ambulance taking away the injured man. Firefighters said he was stabbed in the chest and stomach.
The club president said immediately after the stabbing, the suspect took off running outside, with several wedding guests close behind.
"The guy who actually did the stabbing ran out, he and two other people ran out and jumped in their car and a few others chased after him," said Rissman.
As of Tuesday, no one had been taken into custody. The victim was reportedly hospitalized in stable condition.
