Watch the trailer for Tim Burton's "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children"

The trailer for Tim Burton's new movie,"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," is quite ... peculiar.

It's no surprise that the movie by the "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Alice in Wonderland" director looks very uncanny. Even the two-and-a-half-minute trailer will give you chills.

The teaser follows a boy named Jake who is tasked with protecting the motley crew at Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

The home is for children with extraordinary abilities or traits: The orphans include a girl with a mouth on the back of her head, an invisible boy, a boy who can project movies onto the wall with his eye and more.

Watch the trailer to catch a glimpse of Burton's next film, which is based on the novel of the same name.

"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" hits theaters in September.
