Stephen Colbert shaves face to prepare for "Late Show" debut

Stephen Colbert is getting himself -- and his face -- ready to host the "Late Show."

CBS unveiled the website, social media accounts an an iOS app for the "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Wednesday, along with a video showing the incoming host gearing up to take over for David Letterman.

"Gearing up," it seems, involves getting rid of the beard he grewafter departing "The Colbert Report" at the end of last year. Let's just say it happens in stages, with a musical tribute to "The Colbeard."

The new incarnation of the "Late Show" also launched its presences on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. The Colbr App will offer videos and radio podcasts from Colbert, as well at his personal Twitter feed.

Colbert officially begins his "Late Show" tenure Sept. 8. He replaces Letterman, who signed off with a star-studded finale episode last month.
