Va. teen admits to killing parents because they took away iPod

NORFOLK, Va. - A Norfolk, Va. teenager accused of killing his parents because they took his iPod away has pleaded guilty to two second-degree murder counts, reports CBS DC.

Vincent T. Parker, 16, is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 18.

Prosecutors say Parker, who entered his plea Wednesday, told investigators that he got mad at his parents for taking away his iPod, reports the station.

"I just remember getting mad," Parker told investigators, according to WTKR-TV. "It's all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff."

Allen Taylor, the 16-year-old honor roll student's grandfather, doesn't know why his grandson snapped.

"He is a smart young man," Taylor told WTKR. "He is smart in school. I don't know what happened."

Taylor added that he has forgiven his grandson.

"I want him to get some type of counseling," he told WTKR. "Help him to grow up and be an understanding man. Be sorry for what he did do. I told him to ask God to forgive him for what he did."

Parker had been scheduled to stand trial as an adult in Norfolk Circuit Court this week.

Parkers' parents, 55-year-old Wayne Parker and 57-year-old Carol Parker, were stabbed in the family's home on Dec. 19, 2013. The teen also beat his mom with a baseball bat and his dad with a crowbar. Both died at a local hospital.
