Video shows sportscaster's bizarre rant at female anchor
Sportscaster Gary Radnich went off-script in an on-air rebuke of a colleague who got to deliver some Space Jam news before him this week on KRON-4 in San Francisco.
Radnich begins giving his off-screen colleague, Catherine Heenan, an evil side-eye as he begins announcing Lebron James' upcoming part in the film, when she interrupts.
"Oh, are you mad? Because I already read that," Heenan says matter-of-factly.
Apparently, he was. The public tongue lashing was given "with a smile," he says, because of the newscasters' longstanding friendship -- one that involves his mother. Maybe that's why he felt so comfortable dressing her down on live TV.
"I stay in my lane" he tells her, accusing her of trying to "pit me against the producer," who gave her the script.
While he tells viewers that "Catherine has stayed at my mother's home, she's written my mother notes, and stolen my material," he concludes with the obvious.
"There's gonna come a time when you have to choose between the love of your mother, and your mother's friends, and the honor and dignity of KRON."
