Vermont woman selling bakery -- for $75, an essay, and a recipe

WAITSFIELD, Vt. -- A Vermont bakery owner is selling her business - for $75 and an essay.

Vermont Public Radio reports that those interested in owning the Mix Cupcakerie and Kitchen in Waitsfield have to write about why they want it. They have to submit the essay along with an idea for a cupcake recipe and $75 entry fee.

Carole Keleher says she has to leave soon because her partner got a job out of state. She's also raising money online to cover equipment costs.

"I wanted to spread out the pool of perspective owners. It's not necessarily about being a buyer. It's more about having the love and the ability to do this job," Keleher told Vermont Public Radio.

Keleher says she's offering 80 hours of free training to the prospective business owner.
