Passenger jet skids off runway in Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Officials said a United Airlines plane carrying more than 70 people skidded off a runway at Buffalo Niagara International Airport while landing.
It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday as the flight was landing in Buffalo from Washington Dulles International Airport. The plane landed on a slick runway and skidded about 300 feet into a grass "safety area."
No injuries were reported.
"There were some high winds and challenging weather" at the time of the incident, according to a United spokesperson who said passengers and crew from the flight were taken to the terminal by bus.
Officials said the main runway remained open and that the incident was not expected to impact travelers Monday.
Authorities were investigating the incident.
