Tyler Perry welcomes a son

It's a boy for Tyler Perry.

The actor-director, 45, and longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele have welcomed their first child.

Son Aman Tyler Perry arrived on Nov. 30, People reports. A source said, "Mom and baby are happy and healthy. Tyler is so excited."

After welcoming Aman (which means "peace"), Perry and Bekele, a model and activist, reportedly sent a birth announcement to family and close friends, asking that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to Charity Water, an organization dedicated to providing clean water to developing countries.

Perry most recently appeared on the big screen as lawyer Tanner Bolt in "Gone Girl," alongside Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
