Twitter celebrated its 10th birthday on Monday.
When the social media service first rolled out 10 years ago, it wasn't long before celebrities decided to join in on the fun and use Twitter to communicate with their followers. For the first time, fans could engage in real-time conversations with their favorite celebrities, and many stars took advantage of the service to expand their brands.
Here are the most retweeted tweets by the top 10 most followed celebrities on Twitter.
1. Katy Perry's threatening One Direction tweet: More than 129,000 retweets.
