Train derails, smashes into home

ATLANTA -- A train derailed and crashed into a home here early Thursday morning, injuring a man sleeping inside, reports CBS Atlanta affiliate WGCL-TV.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m.

The train crashed into the homeowner's bedroom, WGCL says. He was taken to an area hospital with cuts and bruises to his face and is expected to be OK. 

There was no initial word on what caused the derailment.

Several train cars are off the tracks and blocking roadways in the area, and authorities said it could take several hours to get them uprighted and cleared from the scene.
