Tracy Morgan may join Ice Cube, Charlie Day in new movie

Tracy Morgan is truly on the up and up.

Morgan, who made a surprise appearance on Sunday at the Emmy Awards, is to join Ice Cube and Charlie Day in New Line's upcoming comedy, "Fist Fight," reports TheWrap.

The movie will be his first since he suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple broken bones from a June 2014 accident, when a Walmart truck hit his limo.

Richie Keenis directing "Fist Fight," which was written by Evan Susser and Van Robichaux.

The storyline follows a gentle schoolteacher played by Day, who is challenged to a fist fight by a burlier colleague, played by Ice Cube.

Other actors signed onto the movie include Dean Norris, who will play the school's principal, and Jillian Bell, who will play a guidance counselor. It is still unclear who Morgan will play, but his casting shows how well his recovery is coming along.

Morgan is to host a "Saturday Night Live" show this fall, and he looked happy and healthy at the Emmys.

He even cracked a joke about waking up from his coma.

"When I finally regained consciousness, I was ecstatic to learn I wasn't the one who messed up," he said as the audience laughed. "Only recently I've started to feel like myself again."
