Josh Turner road crew tour bus runs off California highway, killing one, injuring 7

The tour bus of the road crew for country and gospel singer Josh Turner ran off a highway in Shandon, California late Wednesday night, killing one person and injuring seven, two seriously, reports CBS Santa Maria, California affiliate KCOY-TV. The names of the dead weren't immediately released.

Shandon is north of Los Angeles, about a third of the way between L.A. and San Francisco.

KCOY says the bus left the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in in Paso Roble after a Turner concert. It wasn't clear where it was headed.

Cal Fire's San Luis Obispo unit  said Turner and his band were on different buses:

A spokesperson for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office told CBS News the bus went down a steep embankment of roughly 50 feet.

The incident's cause was under investigation.
