Tornado touches down on North Carolina coast
BOGUE, North Carolina - A tornado touched down in Carteret County in North Carolina Saturday afternoon, damaging several boats and homes in the popular summer vacation spot.
CBS affiliate WNCN in Raleigh reports the tornado began as a waterspout and moved to land.
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in the town of Bogue. An EF-0 has wind speeds of 65-85 miles per hour.
So far, only one person has been reported injured, although the extent of the injuries is unclear.
Several mobile homes were reported damaged after the tornado tore through a mobile home park. Additionally, boats along the coast were reportedly tossed around, including one that ended up on the porch of a house.
