Tom Hardy shuts down reporter who asks about sexuality
One reporter learned the hard way that Tom Hardy has no patience for questions about his sexuality.
Hardy was at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting the film "Legend," in which Hardy portrays twin gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray -- Ronnie is bisexual.
Given the plot line of Ronnie's bisexuality, plus reports from 2008 that Hardy admitted to gay flings when he was young, a reporter for the Daily Xtra, a Toronto LGBT publication, asked Hardy a question that made the actor lose his cool.
"In the film your character Ronnie is very open about his sexuality but given interviews you've done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous," said the reporter. "Do you find celebrities find it hard to talk to media about their sexuality?"
"What on earth are you on about?" asked Hardy.
The reporter mentioned the 2008 interview, and Hardy asked, "But what is your question?"
The reporter repeated his previous question and Hardy said, "I don't find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality. Are you asking about my sexuality?"
The reporter said, "Um, sure," to which Hardy responded, "Why?"
As the reporter tried to answer, Hardy dismissed him -- thereby not talking about his sexuality -- and said, "Thank you."
He should have asked Hardy about his MySpace profile instead.
