Police: Missing Conn. dirt biker was stabbed to death along trail

STERLING, Conn. — A 19-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with murder in the death of another man who was allegedly stabbed during a drug deal gone wrong along a dirt bike path, reports CBS affiliate WFSB.

Todd Allen’s remains were found Friday in a wooded area. The 18-year-old had been missing since Dec. 26, according to police. Kevin Weismore has been charged with murder and tampering with evidence.

Allen’s mother, Christina Moses, told WFSB that Allen left early in the afternoon on the day of his death to ride his dirt bike on nearby trails. He said he’d be back by 4 p.m., but never returned.

Weismore told police that he met up with Allen along a dirt bike trail with the intention of selling him a quarter pound of marijuana, according to an arrest affidavit. Weismore allegedly said that when he displayed the marijuana, Allen pulled out a gun and said he couldn’t pay for it.

The suspect allegedly said he knocked the gun away and stabbed Allen multiple times, killing him.

Police say Weismore disposed of the weapons and threw Allen’s dirt bike helmet and backpack down a well. He allegedly pushed Allen’s dirt bike into a pond, and burnt his own clothing, as well as the marijuana.

Weismore told police that he took Allen’s dirt bike out of the woods.

Weismore is being held on $1 million bond. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
