Three arrested in shooting death of Indiana mom

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. - Three people have been charged in the murder of a 23-year-old Indianapolis mother, reports CBS affiliate WISH.

On Monday, 27-year-old Amanda Gonzales was arrested and charged with murder and assisting a criminal for her alleged involvement in the shooting death of Katrina Miller, who was found dead Thursday night by two boys in a cornfield in Hancock County.

Investigators said Gonzales was there when Miller, mother to a 2-year-old girl, was shot to death in the cornfield, according to the station. Her relationship with the victim is unclear.

Court documents state Joe Meyers and Ronnie Westbrook, Gonzales's boyfriend, were also arrested in the case and charged with kidnapping and murder on Wednesday, WISH reports.

Documents contend Gonzales told friends Westbrook "got mad because some drugs came up missing out of his room," and that "he threatened to kill [Gonzales] and Katrina Miller if he didn't get them back." Gonzales also allegedly told friends that she, Westbrook, and Meyers brought Miller to the cornfield.

The documents state Gonzales said Miller was told to get down on her knees, and that Meyers then shot the victim in the back of the neck.

The station also reports friends told police Gonzales said Westbrook found the missing drugs in his room after the crime was committed. One friend told investigators "she thought Gonzales took and hid the drugs because she was mad at Katrina Miller [after] finding her and Ronnie Westbrook in bed together," the document states.

Detectives continue to investigate the case.
