Three arrested in death of Michigan State student, 19

BATH TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three suspects were arrested this weekend in connection with the death of  19-year-old Michigan State University student, reports CBS affiliate WNEM.

Dustyn Frolka, of Owosso, was found unresponsive on the side of the road on Interstate 69 in Michigan Feb. 15. Two adults and a juvenile were taken into custody Sunday in Saline, roughly 15 miles south of Ann Arbor. They are facing murder and drug charges in the case.

On the night of his death, a post was made to Frolka’s Twitter page that read, “I’ve never done DMT and that is about to change.” DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, is a hallucinogenic drug.

Frolka’s cause of death is currently unknown. Police are awaiting toxicology results before making a determination.

Frolka was discovered on I-69 by a passing motorist who is a nurse. He was only partially clothed and was in respiratory distress. The nurse administered first aid, but Frolka was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

According to police, the three suspects were found in possession of illegal drugs when their apartment was raided over the weekend. They are currently being held without bond in the Clinton County Jail. 

Their arraignment is expected Monday morning.
