The top 10 reasons Russian sanctions made Sen. Dan Coats sad

While a number of U.S. lawmakers sanctioned by the Russian government have bragged about that distinction on social media, Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind., took the sarcasm to another level on Friday, tweeting a Dave Letterman-style "Top Ten" list of the reasons Russia's move disappointed him.


To protest Russia's annexation of the formerly Ukrainian region of Crimea, President Obama on Thursday expanded targeted sanctions against senior members of the Russian government and people he dubbed "cronies" of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Also on Thursday, the Russian government levied its own sanctions against several congressmen and administration officials, including Coats, Sen. John McCAin, R-Ariz., House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and others.
