"The future looks bright": Caitlyn Jenner opens up about her transition

Caitlyn Jenner took to her WhoSay blog on Monday to answer reader questions about her transition and life as a transgender woman.

Since Jenner went public as Caitlyn with a Vanity Fair cover released six weeks ago, the former Olympian and television personality has called the response to her transition "incredibly positive."

"I've met so many accepting people, including many through the 'Ask Me Anything' section on my site," Jenner wrote. Indeed, the outpouring of questions and comments from readers following her first post crashed the site.

Yet her transition wasn't without its hardships. Jenner described that some trans-identifying individuals will share their true identity at a young age. However, there are others, like her, who live with that knowledge for a longer time -- an experience that is "very uncomfortable."

"I had all of the issues, but I was growing up in a very different time and I had no information," she wrote. "After 65 years, here I was right back with the same problems that I had when I was 10 years old and I had to finally do something about that."

Even with those hardships behind her, Jenner is still grappling with the question, "Am I doing it right?"

One of her readers, a transgender woman, assured Jenner the best thing for her to do is just be herself. "Be unashamed, honest, and brave," the reader advised. Jenner called the response, "a powerful message for all walks of life."

Ultimately, Jenner's transition has motivated her to help others who struggle to express their true selves.

"It's been both eye opening and difficult to see firsthand what so many members of the trans community have had to go through just to be themselves," Jenner wrote. "I hope to help raise awareness of these hardships so that it becomes a less painful process going forward."

Jenner will share more about her life as Caitlyn in the eight-part docu-series "I Am Cait," which premieres July 26 on E! at 8 p.m. ET.
