Texas teen arrested in connection with friend's suicide

MCKINNEY, Texas - McKinney police have arrested the 17-year-old friend of a North Texas high school student who committed suicide, reports CBS Dallas.

Jordan Sharifi is accused in the death of 14-year-old Raymond Howell, Jr. of McKinney Boyd High, about 30 miles north of Dallas.

According to the station, Sharifi is charged with theft of a firearm, with making a firearm accessible to a child, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in the death.

In an arrest affidavit police charge Sharifi with stealing the gun and giving it to Howell. Police say the older teen discovered Howell in a drainage ditch Friday morning with the gun underneath his body, and that Sharifi initially hid the weapon from investigators, reports the station.

Police said no other charges or arrests are expected in the case.
