Watch: Taylor Swift makes music in a scene from "The Giver"

Taylor Swift is about to hit the big screen in "The Giver," and now those curious just what the singer will be doing in the film can get a glimpse in this new clip.

The film centers around a seemingly utopian society in which a young man named Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) is selected as the new Receiver of Memories, who will be trained by The Giver (Jeff Bridges).

Swift plays Rosemary, the previous Receiver of Memories before Jonas. In the clip, she sits at a piano playing and singing music with her mentor -- but, The Giver tells Jonas, she now only exists in his memories.

"The Giver," also starring Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgard, opens in theaters on Aug. 15.
