"Peeping Tan": Salon worker videotaped dozens of women, police say

CIRCLE PINES, Minn. -- Police say a Minnesota man secretly videotaped dozens of women at a tanning salon, reports CBS Minnesota.

Police arrested 30-year-old Jake Lindbeck for allegedly using his cellphone to record at least 41 customers as they prepared to tan at Paradise Tan and Tone in suburban Minneapolis, where Lindbeck was an employee until early last month.

One of those women, Denise, expressed disgust during an interview with CBS Minnesota.

"People go there for privacy, expecting privacy, and it's sick," she said. "He's a sick individual."

Police say Lindbeck worked at the salon from Dec. 16, 2014, to March 3, 2015, when a customer spotted a camera being held over the wall of the room where she was tanning.

Lindbeck faces 41 counts of interfering with privacy, all gross misdemeanors, and local police say there may be more alleged victims.

"We want to hear from anybody in the salon while this individual was working, he was a part-time individual," said Sgt. Russell Blanck with Centennial Lakes police.
