Suspect in shooting near Penn Station arrested in Rhode Island
CRANSTON, R.I. -- A suspect in a fatal shooting near New York City's Penn Station Nov. 9, has been arrested in Rhode Island.
According to CBS affiliate WPRI, Francisco Alsina, 23, is in custody with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force after his arrest Thursday night.
Alsina will be extradited back to New York after arraignment at Kent County District Court, a law enforcement official told the station.
U.S. Marshal Jamie Hainsworth said that the suspect was taken into custody in Cranston, a city south of Providence.
Three men were shot on Monday at a subway entrance near Penn Station. The shooting followed a confrontation at a McDonald's.
A 43-year-old man shot in the neck was pronounced dead at the scene and two other victims were hospitalized.
The NYPD took a suspect into custody on Thursday and questioned him in the shooting, but a police spokesman says that suspect has not been charged in the shooting.
