Surprise! Wilco has a new album and it's free

Surprise! Wilco has a new album. And not only that, the group is offering it up for free.

The alt-country rock band is giving fans a chance to download "Star Wars," its 11th studio effort on wilcoworld.net right now. The 11-track set clocks in at 34 minutes and marks Wilco's first new release since 2011's "The Whole Love."

"Star Wars" is the second album Wilco released on its dBpm label.

"Why release an album this way and why make it free? Well, the biggest reason, and I'm not sure we even need any others, is that it felt like it would be fun. What's more fun than a surprise?" frontman Jeff Tweedy wrote on Facebook.

Last year, Tweedy released "Sukierae," the debut album by Tweedy, a side project featuring his son Spencer.

Well, what are you waiting for? Head over to wilcoworld.net and give "Star Wars" a listen.
