Sunday: Kerry, Graham, Rubio, Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez
President Trump's Russia problem deepened this week, after a shocking press conference with Vladimir Putin – and a series of chaotic attempts at damage control – raised new doubts about whether the president accepts his intelligence community's conclusion that the Kremlin interfered in the 2016 election to aid him and hurt Hillary Clinton.
Meanwhile, as the president's top intelligence advisers warn that Russia's attempted interference remains a pressing concern ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, there are also new questions about whether the president grasps the urgency of the cyber threat.
What can Congress do to safeguard America's election security if the administration proves unable – or unwilling – to step up? Can Republicans on Capitol Hill, wary of the Trump administration's foreign policy agenda, force a shift in direction?
On the other side of the aisle, progressive Democrats are boosting candidates in red states ahead of the crucial midterm elections. Can a left-wing populist message resonate in the heartland? And how should Democrats position their party to succeed in 2018 and beyond?
