Sunday: Donald Trump, 2016 preview

2016 is nearly upon us, and in our first broadcast of the new year this Sunday, "Face the Nation" will look ahead to the domestic politics and international events that are likely to shape the year ahead.

We'll have the latest on the record flooding that has claimed dozens of lives and devastated portions of the Midwest along the Mississippi River.

We'll also sit down with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, and we'll ask the GOP frontrunner - who dominated much of the media coverage of the Republican primary in 2015 - how he hopes to build on that success in 2016. With the primaries and caucuses fast approaching, is Trump prepared for the long, hard slog to the nomination? And are his recent harsh attacks Hillary Clinton - including an invocation of Bill Clinton's sex scandals - a preview of what the general election might look like?

For a look at the foreign policy flashpoints that are likely to drive the conversation in 2016, from ISIS to the Iranian Nuclear deal and beyond, we'll turn to two experts - former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell, a senior CBS News security contributor, and Tom Donilon, a former National security Advisor under President Obama.

And we'll turn to an expert political panel to help us preview what promises to be a rollicking election year, including Reihan Salam, of the National Review, Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus, Molly Ball of the Atlantic, and Jonathan Martin of the New York Times.

Make sure to start 2016 off on the right note, and tune into Sunday's broadcast! Check your local listings for airtimes.
