Stephen Collins' "7th Heaven" co-stars react to child molestation claims

Catherine Hicks, who played Stephen Collins' wife on "7th Heaven," was caught on camera Wednesday and asked to comment on the investigation into child molestation allegations against her former co-star.

"I have nothing to say, nothing to hide. I don't know anything. Stephen's a good guy in my opinion," she said in a video posted on TMZ. When asked if anyone on the set of the hit series had any suspicions, she replied, "Gosh, no."

Kyle Searles, who had a recurring role on the show as Mac, called in to "TMZ Live" and said he never saw anything out of the ordinary while working on "7th Heaven."

"That wasn't who I remembered at all," said Searles, who appeared on the show from 2004-2007. "Not in the least bit. I don't really know everything that's going on right now, obviously, all I can do is tell you about who he was whenever I worked with him."

"I never once had any type of encounter where he was maybe a little inappropriate. No one in the cast had ever come to me, nor was it ever an issue," he said, adding, "Stephen was somebody I looked up to. ... Stephen was, by far, the most likable, genuine person I ever had the pleasure of working with. ... He was definitely a father figure to everyone on set."

Collins was cut from the cast of "Ted 2" after details of the allegations were released, and two cable networks have dropped their scheduled reruns of the long-running family series that starred him as a pastor and dad.

Other "7th Heaven" stars, like Jessica Biel, Beverley Mitchell and Barry Watson, have yet to comment publicly, but Kirstie Alley and Kathy Griffin are among those who spoke out about the news on Twitter.
