"Star Wars" fans crash websites, line up for tickets for "The Force Awakens"
"Star Wars" fans came out in droves on Monday to snag tickets to "The Force Awakens," crashing websites and even standing in old-fashioned lines.
The trailer for the upcoming installment debuted during "Monday Night Football" as sites put tickets up for sale -- even earlier than expected. Needles to say, they are in demand.
Ticket sites were slow and there were reports of sites crashing, not able to keep up with the demand. Fandango, AMC Theaters and the Alamo Drafthouse were among the sites facing issues.
Ticket retailer site MovieTickets.com also went down on Monday night. "That's what happens when a nation unites to buy tix for one movie on the same night!" MovieTickets.com tweeted.

Other movie lovers headed to the theater to wait in line to purchase their tickets.

Hundreds of people, meanwhile, gathered in downtown Disney to watch the entire trailer, while others waited in anticipation to watch from home.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" doesn't even open in theaters until Dec. 18. Until then, may the force be with you.
