Police: Teen suspect in Conn. murder was itching for a fight
STAMFORD, Conn. -- Police in Stamford have arrested two suspects in connection with the first murder of the year in the southern Connecticut city, according to CBS New York.
A 15-year-old Connecticut boy and a 22 year-old man are charged in the fatal stabbing of a man after a fight that began over spilled coffee. Police tell the Stamford Advocate that 52-year-old Antonio Muralles was leaving a Stamford restaurant with a cup of coffee March 11 when he bumped into the boy, spilling coffee on him.
The teen was reportedly itching for a fight, according to police.
"He was standing out in a crowd and he said, 'Who is going to be the next person to get cut?' Gentleman was just walking by and he cut him," Chief Jon Fontneau told CBS New York.
The teen then stabbed Muralles repeatedly in and around his heart with a knife, Capt. Richard Conklin told the station.
Fontneau said that an alleged accomplice, James McLamb, 22, took over by beating Muralles and stomping on his chest as he lay bleeding out on the sidewalk, according to CBS New York.
McLamb and the teen suspect were both charged with murder.
McLamb reportedly has a long criminal record, according to the station. He was reportedly being held on $2 million bond.
