Madrid train station evacuated over bomb threat

Police arrested a man Friday who claimed to have left a bomb on a train at Madrid's Atocha train station, according to Spanish media.

Spain's El Mundo newspaper reported that officials had evacuated Atocha as they investigated the claim.

El Mundo said bomb technicians had verified that the man was not carrying explosives, and that they only found a bottle of water in a backpack he had been carrying.

Atocha, one of Madrid's primary rail hubs, was one of the locations hit in a 2004 terrorist attack that left 191 people dead.
