Social media goes wild over Trump and Pence's would-be smooch
Well, that was awkward.
Donald Trump walked out on the Republican convention stage Wednesday night at the conclusion of Mike Pence's first speech as an official vice presidential nominee, and according to the Associated Press, Pence's teleprompter gave the instruction for the two to "embrace."
But with typical Trumpian disregard for teleprompters, the billionaire went in for a kiss instead, attempting to plant a wet one on Pence's forehead.
The GOP nominee didn't quite stick the landing, his puckered lips meeting air when Pence pulled back.
Relive the painful moment here:
Twitter -- of course -- went wild with the endlessly GIF-able moment:
Nothing worse than when you both offer a cheek. So awkward. https://t.co/7O1aIDo6kg

Trump's air kiss to Pence proves he doesn't know how to congratulate someone who hasn't won a pageant

it's dope that conservatives are down with the male on male air kiss. Trump always zigging when they zag.
